The Ohio Veterans Home Employee Recognition Network committee began a week-long Hurricane Katrina fundraiser on Sept. 2. Employees and resident veterans rallied behind the drive, and the ERN collected a total of $1,600.

"This was a team effort by all," said Margaret Quillen, co-chairperson of the ERN. "The employees and resident veterans truly come together when something occurs of this enormity such as Hurricane Katrina."

Bob Day presented a check on behalf of the committee to the Firelands Chapter of the American Red Cross.
