AMVETS say Matune is
tops
The Department of Ohio
section of AMVETS has named
Steve Matune,
superintendent of the Ohio Veterans Home in
Perkins
Township, the
organization's "Civil Servant of the Year."
The veterans group
cited Matune's willingness to work with AMVETS, provide the group
advice and current information on veterans issues and his work to
improve veterans benefits. Matune's efforts show his honest concern
and appreciation for the services rendered by the veterans of
Ohio, AMVETS officials
say.
Matune hails from
Campbell,
Ohio, and is an Army
veteran who served from 1983-97. He was appointed to his current
position in June 2002.
Prior to his current
job, he was deputy director and director of services. He is
responsible for the well-being of more than 600 residents and
directs a workforce of 700 employees.
Vacationland announces
election
Vacationland
Federal Credit Union held an annual meeting on Feb. 16 and
elected the following board members:
Marcia Renande was
newly elected to the board. She is a
Sandusky native and has worked in
health care for 28 years, currently as the special events
coordinator at Firelands Regional Medical Center. Renande is a
LEADS graduate, an active board member of KinShip and a member of
the Perkins Township Park Board.
Jim Vaccaro was
reelected to the board and will begin serving his second term. He
has been retired from
Delphi for
the last four years. He will serve as the board's
secretary.
Bill Wood was also
re-elected to the board and will begin serving his third term. He
recently retired from
Delphi after
36 years. He has served on several community boards and committees.
He will serve as vice-chairman this year.
The following officers
were elected to serve on the VCFU Executive Committee: Jude Hammond,
chairman; Bill Wood, vice chairman; Jim Vaccaro, secretary; Dorothy
Flounders, assistant secretary; Howard Collins, treasurer, and Sam
Artino, assistant treasurer. Other board members are Marcia Renande
and Jan Sadoski.
Jadwisiak attends
training session
Dan Jadwisiak, a sales
professional with Prudential Financial's Buckeye Mountain Agency in
Port Clinton, recently attended a day-long specialized training and
mentoring session in insurance and financial services held in
Indianapolis,
Indiana.
The Top Gun territorial
training meeting was led by a panel of Prudential's top producers.
Jadwisiak, who joined Prudential in 1982, has received Prudential's
Gold and Million Dollar Round Table awards for outstanding
performance in customer sales and service.
Two graduate from
academy
Two officials at
Erie-Huron Counties Community Action Commission Inc. have graduated
from the
Community
Action
Leadership
Academy.
Timothy Brown is the
programs coordinator while Amy Sutherland is the director of
research and development.
CALA
is a 12-month program dedicated to empowering
Ohio's
community action network by providing professional development
opportunities to staffers.
