Andrew M. Vogel, CNHA
Nursing Home Adminstrator
With more than 20 years experience as a Nursing Home Administrator and a long-time resident of Georgetown, Ohio, Andrew “Drew” M. Vogel was appointed to the position of Administrator of Ohio Veterans Home-Georgetown in January, 2009.
Mr. Vogel grew up on the west side of Cincinnati and joined the Army right after high school. He spent his active duty years in the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, N.C.
Upon discharge from the Army, Vogel began a career as an award-winning broadcast journalist before returning to Cincinnati in 1989 to enter the family nursing home business. He ultimately became an owner of that nursing home and president of the corporation that operated it.
In the five years immediately preceding his appointment to OVH-G, Vogel served as Administrator of a 144-bed nursing home in Washington Court House, Ohio.
Mr. Vogel earned a BA in Journalism from Northern Kentucky University and a Masters Degree from the University South Florida, in Tampa, where he also taught as an Adjunct Professor of Journalism. He is a Certified Nursing Home Administrator (CNHA) through the American College of Health Care Administrators and a Fellow of the College.
He enjoys hiking in mountainous areas such as Yosemite and Olympic National Parks and riding his bicycle on the back roads of Brown County.
Mr. Vogel’s wife, Gail, is a life-long resident of the Georgetown area and owned several businesses locally. They have a blended family of six children, 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
