Medal of Honor Recipients

328 Ohioans have been awarded the Medal of Honor from conflicts dating back to the Civil War. All are members of the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame.

A total of 329 Ohioans have been awarded the Medal of Honor from conflicts dating back to the Civil War. Originally, 318 were inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame Class of 1992. Included among these inductees were three Medal of Honor recipients who were living at the time:
Korean War: Ronald E. Rosser, Vietnam War: Frank A. Herda, Gordon R. Roberts

After 1992, eleven additional Medal of Honor recipients were discovered or awarded the medal and were inducted into Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame classes. They are listed below, by order of their campaign, along with their year of induction.
Civil War: Asel Hagerty (1997), Joel Parsons (2001), Charles Schorn (2001)
Indian Campaigns: Clinton Greaves (1998)
Spanish American War: William G. Keller (2001)
World War II: Almond E. Fisher (2001), John R. Fox (1997), Joe M. Nishimoto (2021)
Korean War: William B. Baugh (1999)
Vietnam War: William H. Pitsenbarger (2001)
Operation Enduring Freedom: Edward C. Byers Jr. (2017)
